The Victorinox I.N.O.X. Professional Diver LE Is Inspired by Shipwrecks

The new Victorinox I.N.O.X. Professional Diver LE checks all the boxes for a dive watch—it has a strong titanium case, it’s water resistant to 200 meters, and it’s ISO-certified for diving—but it comes with some unique extras: A stunning 3D-printed dial pattern and a handy pocketknife in a matching color scheme. If you’re on the hunt for a capable tool watch that’s also a real head-turner, look no further.

The I.N.O.X. Professional Diver LE combines tough construction and dependable underwater capability with some ocean-inspired aesthetics. The watch features a 45mm titanium case that’s sandblasted and coated in a black matte PVD finish. The case offers excellent strength and durability at a low weight, so despite the watch’s blocky looks, it won’t feel clunky on your wrist.

Like any real dive watch, it comes with a unidirectional rotating bezel—formed in a striking hexagon shape—for tracking time underwater. On the bezel, the 20-minute zone (the amount of time you can stay at 100 feet below the surface without doing decompression stops), is marked in bright yellow for easy reading. In addition, Victorinox used two different colors of Super-LumiNova to make the dial, hands, and indices clearly legible under the waves.

But the real highlight of the I.N.O.X. Professional Diver LE is the attention given to aesthetics. The center of the dial displays a highly detailed 3D-printed pattern in light green; it’s meant to evoke the oxidization of brass pieces found on shipwrecks resting at the bottom of the ocean. To top it off, the watch is sold with a matching Spartan PS Swiss Army Knife in the same pattern (it’s only available to those who purchase the watch), and two expandable rubber straps that are designed to fit over a wetsuit.

If you’re suiting up for a dive, the I.N.O.X. Professional Diver LE will make a trusty companion. It’s an official ISO 6425-certified dive watch, so it’s been tested for proper performance on dives, plus it’s built to withstand magnetic fields and is powered by a quartz movement for accurate timekeeping.

Want to put one on your wrist? Don’t wait—Victorinox is producing just 1,200 of these limited-edition beauties.

Grand Seiko SGBW279 Dress Watch Inspired by Nature

When designing watches, many watchmakers draw inspiration from the various places a person might take their watch or the activities they might do while wearing it. The watch world is filled with models like this—dive watches built for scuba diving, watches that draw style inspo from race cars, and military timepieces that evoke the rugged tools of decades past. But watches can also take inspiration from the natural world, too. That’s the case with the new Grand Seiko SBGW279, which is available only in the U.S. It’s a handsome dress watch with a prominent blue dial that gets its color from a migratory songbird.

Every year, the Oruri songbird travels from Southeast Asia to spend the summer in the mountains of northern Japan. With their striking blue plumage, these birds are a beautiful sign of the new season. Those blue feathers are also the point of inspiration for the SBGW279. The main highlight on the watch is its deep blue dial, and the rest of the timepiece has an understated elegance that allows the dial to shine. (It also evokes that minimalist styling of the original Grand Seiko watch from 1960.)

The dial features an unfussy layout with no date window and simple block indices arrayed around the perimeter. At 37.3mm, the stainless steel case has a comfortable size that isn’t overbearing, though it does feature one surprise: Flip it over, and the see-through case back gives a glimpse of the watch’s movement.

The watch is topped with box-shaped sapphire crystal for durability and legibility, and it’s matched with a complementary brown crocodile leather band. The band pairs well with the watch’s restrained styling, and overall the Grand Seiko SBGW279 makes an appealing dress watch that’ll work with a wide range of outfits, whether you’re heading into the office or going out on a date.

On the inside, the SBGW279 is powered by a 9S64 mechanical movement. In keeping with its throwback looks, it’s an old-school hand-wound movement, so you’ll need to give the crown a few twists every now and then. But that won’t happen too often: The movement features a hefty 72-hour power reserve. Better yet, it’s accurate to within -3 or +5 seconds per day.

With its refined aesthetic and no-nonsense mechanicals, the Grand Seiko SBGW279 is the opposite of ostentatious. It’s eye-catching without looking overdone—what else would you expect when it’s modeled after Mother Nature?

Bell & Ross’s New Limited-Edition BR V2-92 Watches Glow Day or Night

Two new Bell & Ross BR V2-92 watches bring new meaning to the phrase “see and be seen.” Although they accomplish the feat in different ways, the BR V2-92 Orange and BR V2-92 Full Lum are both head-turners from afar and up close: The former wears a sunny dial color, and the latter is fully coated with lume for excellent visibility, even when it’s dark.

The watches are limited-edition versions of Bell & Ross’s BR V2-92 model, part of the brand’s collection of vintage-styled timepieces. Both the Orange and the Full Lum feature a 41mm stainless steel case with a grooved crown and prominent crown guard; the metal wears both satin and polished finishes. The dial displays the hour, minutes, and seconds with three hands, and there’s a small circular date window tucked in between 4 and 5 o’clock. The date display itself wears the same color as the surrounding dial—a nice aesthetic touch that keeps the face of the watch from looking too cluttered.

Both watches feature a bidirectional rotating bezel with a notched edge for good grip, and the dial is capped with domed sapphire crystal. Flip them over, and the see-through case back gives a view of the inner mechanicals. They’re also water resistant down to 100 meters, so they have plenty of durability for everyday wear, even if your daily routine includes a dip in the pool.

The Full Lum model is all about superior visibility in low light. It achieves that goal thanks to a fully lumed dial, a feature that Bell & Ross first rolled out in its lineup in 2019. The BR V2-92 is the fourth watch to get this treatment. The dial has a unique “water green” lume color; the hands and indices are adorned with pale yellow Super-LumiNova. In the daytime, the watch has a subtle green color, but the real show starts after dark. In low light, the entire watch face glows blue, and the hands and indices illuminate in a light green hue.

The BR V2-92 Orange might not light up at night like its lumed sibling, but it’ll certainly catch your eye during the day. As the name implies, the big draw with this limited-run model is the bright dial color, which Bell & Ross initially released on its BR 03-92 Diver Orange timepiece back in 2020. While this isn’t a dive watch, the color suits the BR V2-92 well, and gives this vintage model an attractive pop. You can pair it with a rubber strap in a braided pattern or a steel bracelet—perfect for giving this watch a slightly dressier look.

Both watches are powered by Bell & Ross’s BR-CAL.302 automatic movement for consistent timekeeping.

Want to add one of these tickers to your collection? Don’t wait—just 500 of each will be made.

Watch of the Week: Zodiac’s Super Sea Wolf Gets a Colorful New Look

Since launching in the 1950s, Zodiac’s Super Sea Wolf line of dive watches has earned a reputation as being dependable, highly functional divers with an appealing price point. They became a common sight on the wrists of U.S. military enlisted men, especially those in the Navy and Special Forces (something that Zodiac liked to mention in its advertising for the timepiece). Even decades after it first appeared, the Super Sea Wolf is still a prized model among dive watch aficionados. Now Zodiac is upping the ante with the Super Sea Wolf Pro-Diver Mainline, a new version that features brightly colored bezels and upgraded underwater performance, too.

While bright colors aren’t often found on utilitarian dive watches, these tones on the new Pro-Diver Mainline models are inspired by the ocean, or more specifically, the creatures living within it: They’re modeled after the bioluminescent algae and sea life found deep beneath the waves. While all the watches are available with a stainless-steel link bracelet, you can also swap in a rubber strap in bright colors like blue and orange to really make the timepiece stand out on your wrist.

But color isn’t the only upgrade on these watches—Zodiac upgraded their performance as well. They feature a 42mm case with a clean, numberless dial layout and plenty of Super-LumiNova on the indices, bezel, and hands for excellent visibility in the water. In addition, they’re ISO certified for reliability (e.g. resistance to magnetic fields and impact forces) and rated for water resistance down to 300 meters. That’s a significant improvement over the 200-meter rating of the brand’s other flagship diver, the Super Sea Wolf 53. The bright colors make them fun to wear, but the large case (two millimeters wider than the Super Sea Wolf 53) and hefty construction make them capable companions for serious adventures underwater.

As you’d expect from any watch that bears the Sea Wolf name, the Pro-Diver Mainline offers well-engineered mechanicals for precise and reliable timekeeping. Each one is powered by a Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, and the movement is COSC-certified to operate within plus-six to minus-four seconds’ variance per day. From the ocean to the office and beyond, this colorful diver will keep you on task and on time.

And it’ll look damn good while doing it.

Watch of the Week: Timex Expedition North Makes an Ideal Everyday Watch

What do you get when you combine Timex, the legendary watchmaker known for rugged, stylish timepieces, and The James Brand, the Portland, OR-based purveyor of superb everyday carry items? One very stylish, dependable watch: the Timex x The James Brand Expedition North Titanium Watch, to be exact.

The limited-edition timepiece (just 500 individually numbered units have been made) is a totally new design and the first release in Timex’s new Expedition North Collection, which debuts this fall. The watch represents what both companies do best: creating finely crafted, adventure-ready items that mesh seamlessly into your everyday wardrobe. While some collaborations bring opposites together, this watch highlights two brands that have similar approaches to product design, and the resulting watch is, unsurprisingly, a standout.

The Expedition North features a 41mm case made from titanium for exceptional strength, low weight, and a subtle gunmetal color. It’s paired with a straightforward, highly legible dial design (a Timex hallmark) with a 24-hour layout and date window neatly embedded at three o’ clock. The hands and indices are coated with Super-LumiNova for easy reading in low light, and anti-reflective sapphire crystal fights glare from the sun as well. With its matching black nylon strap, it’s simple, understated, and highly wearable—exactly what you want in an “everyday” watch.

But that doesn’t mean the Expedition North is without surprises. If you flip the watch over, an open case back provides a view of the inner workings of the 21-jewel Japanese automatic movement—a nice touch on a watch that retails for just under $350. It’s also water resistant to 200 meters, so swims, splashes, and after-dinner dishwashing won’t pose a problem for i either.

Unfortunately, all 500 watches have already sold out, but keep an eye out for resellers—with its rugged dependability and good looks, you won’t regret adding this timepiece to your collection.
