The Bonobos Shirt That’s the Perfect ‘Balance Between Formal and Casual’ Is $39 and Selling Out Fast

Bonobos recently went live with a special sale on business-casual golf gear, giving shoppers an extra 25% off more than 100 products that’ll have you hitting the links or the office in style. But for those more inclined to putt through a windmill, the brand has plenty of classic button-down shirts, khaki pants, and polos on sale that are worth checking out. One of the best deals at Bonobos right now is on the brand’s Everyday Oxford Shirt—a bestseller—that’s more than half off the original price.

The Everyday Oxford Shirt is just $39 in select colors, a steep 56% discount on the normally $89 style. It’s final sale and moving quickly, but it’s still available in a full run of sizes between XS and 2XL in the handsome Olive color with plenty of others to choose from in a more limited selection.

The Oxford shirt’s origins in the sport of polo are what make it such a versatile casual dress shirt. The slightly rougher Oxford cloth texture sets it apart from dressier fabrics like poplin, while the button-down collar and chest pocket add to the casual appeal. Bonobos kept these classic details in its take on the Oxford shirt, updating it with modern colors and prints and adding 2% spandex for comfortable all-day movement. Bonobos also makes it easy to get a customized fit—you can choose between four fits, from tailored to athletic, and three shirt lengths from short to long.

Shoppers appreciated the contemporary take on this classic shirt, with one calling it a “modern spin on Oxford cloth,” adding, “I love old-school ‘Oxford’ cloth shirts. Bonobos’ modern spin on Oxford cloth has made this shirt a ‘go-to’ for me again. I love the heft of the fabric, and the mild stretchiness makes it super comfortable to wear in the office or out ‘on the town.'” Likewise, someone else summed it up as the “right balance between formal and casual.”

Shoppers also appreciated the variety of fits, with one raving that it’s “the very best off-the-rack shirt I own,” adding, “This truly is the first shirt I’ve had that fits nicely in the chest, shoulders, arms, and abdomen. Qualitatively, this is as close to tailoring as you can get without actually going to a tailor.” Similarly, another wrote, “Once you find your fit with Bonobos products, they are hard to beat. Good quality as well.”

When Bonobos shirts like the Everyday Oxford get marked down, they sell out quickly. So, if you’re looking for a business casual shirt, or you just want something that looks put-together but not too formal, pick up one of these while they’re still in stock and just $39.

Amazon’s No. 1 Bestselling T-Shirts That Even ‘Very Picky’ Shoppers Call ‘the Best’ Are Just $5 Right Now

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If there was one single perfect T-shirt for all guys, we’d be filthy rich. But what’s “perfect” for one man might be completely different from the next. Some guys prefer a thick, boxy ’90s-inspired tee from Carhartt or Hanes while others go for a more modern slim-fitting, lightweight style like those from Proof or even Taylor Stitch. For others, it simply comes down to price, and right now, Amazon’s No. 1 bestselling men’s T-shirts just dropped to $5 a pop.

The Russell Athletic Dri-Power Short Sleeve Tee is on sale for as low as $5—a 50% discount on the normal $10 price. These bestselling T-shirts are backed by over 20,000 five-star ratings, which has earned them the first spot among all men’s T-shirts on Amazon in addition to an astounding top-10 ranking among all clothing products across the entire site. They’re available in sizes ranging from small to 4XL and come in over 15 solid colors.

This T-shirt is mostly logo-free with just a very tiny Russell mark at the bottom of the hem. The brand has removed the tag, which will keep you comfortable and itch-free. Russell has the distinction of having invented the sweatshirt, and the Alabama-born company remains an affordable go-to for tees, hoodies, and sweatpants. As a cotton/poly blend, this tee will be best suited for everyday wear and casual workouts. And though it’s not a super high-performance shirt, it has great qualities often found in men’s outdoor gear, like moisture-wicking properties, odor protection, and even UPF 30+ sun-blocking power.

Shoppers appreciated many things about these basic T-shirts, including the fit, the weight, and especially the value, but one frequent callout was the feeling of the fabric. One shopper called these T-shirts “comfortable and breathable,” and added that they have a “good cut and fit.” Another shopper said they were “very picky about T-shirts” and called these Russell tees “some of the best blended shirts in the world,” adding that the fit was “excellent.”

Others were happy to find how well these tees held up in the laundry. One shopper said that they “washed well with minimal shrinkage.” Another shopper wrote, “They wash up beautifully, have no wrinkles, and hold their shape and color.”

If you’re looking for a basic tee for hitting the gym, everyday wear, or lounging around the house, Russell’s cotton/poly tees are soft, comfortable, and one of the best values you’ll find on Amazon. Even a basic T-shirt can be pricey, but at just $5, it’s hard to argue that they’re not worth a shot.

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Nike is popular among golfers for its sneaker-like golf shoes, comfortable golf pants, and sun-protective headwear, but it’s the brand’s golf shirts that never fail to provide a fresh look when you’re hitting the links. And you pay a premium for the pleasure—Nike’s golf shirts typically run around $80 a pop. But recently, a bunch of styles went on sale at PGA Tour Superstore for as much as 51% off, and they’re a must-grab while they’re still available.

Among the selection is a vast array of Nike’s Dri-Fit golf polos, including some from the Tiger Woods collection, which are vibrant, breathable, and perfect for any golf setting. There are also some classic hats, outerwear, and shorts available for as low as $15. After Men’s Journal had a chance to look through the Nike golf shirts that were on sale, we found these four that are a must-wear for the upcoming season.

This Nike golf polo is from the Dri-Fit series and features moisture-wicking and temperature-control properties that are a must-have for spending time outside in the sun. It’s been cut to a length that’s good for tucked and untucked wear and offers a splash of color in a space typically dominated by boring colors. This shirt also sports a cool monochromatic camo print on the front and back to add visual intrigue. We’re glad the green Nike chose isn’t grass-colored—otherwise you’d blend right in.

What Shoppers Are Saying: “Perfectly good shirt for on and off the course! Worth the price you pay. Great quality and comfort. I will buy another color in the same style.”

This Huckberry-Favorite Merino Polo Is $30 Off and Is a ‘Game Changer for Travelers’

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

We’d generally advocate for washing shirts after each wear. But if you had to go multiple days between washes, merino fabric is what you want. There’s a reason merino wool is so popular with backpackers and hikers—not only is it moisture-wicking and breathable, but it’s also much more odor-resistant than synthetic fabrics.

Right now, Proof’s 72-hour merino wool short-sleeve polo is discounted at Huckberry. The $98 shirt is $30 off, dropping the price to just $68. It’s earned more than 200 five-star ratings and remains a favorite among shoppers. Like Proof’s bestselling 72-Hour Merino T-shirt, the brand’s polo is available in a wide range of colors, several of which are still in stock in most sizes.

The same attributes that make merino wool popular with hikers apply to travel, too. The moisture-wicking, temperature-regulating properties are ideal for airplane cabins that are simultaneously too cold and too hot. Plus, Proof’s polo is designed to pass the smell test after “72-plus hours of constant wear,” according to Huckberry, making it a suitable option for carry-on-only travelers who pack light. Even if you do plan on washing your shirt at the end of each day, the odor-resistant properties come in handy on those long travel days that feel like they’re 72 hours long.

Proof’s polo is made from 87% merino wool with 13% nylon, which adds abrasion resistance and durability and makes it easy to wash. The shirt also has a UPF 30+ rating for sun protection. The two-button polo placket makes it dressier than a T-shirt, so you can easily wear it with a soft-shouldered blazer or pair it with dark-wash jeans

Huckberry shoppers didn’t just take Proof’s word for it—they put the 72-hour polo to the test. One shopper wrote, “I was told that just because it’s a three-day shirt I shouldn’t wear it for three days. But I did, and it maintained its shape and didn’t get stinky.” Another wrote, “Wore it on the plane and for several days without a wash.” One shopper summed up the shirt’s appeal, writing, “These merino shirts are being touted as a game changer for travelers. In this case, they’re not exaggerating.”

Shoppers also appreciated how easy the shirt is to style, with one calling it “perfect for a day at the office,” adding that they can “still wear it out to dinner after.” Another called the polo “super versatile” for outfits ranging “from casual business to jeans or shorts.”

When popular products go on sale at Huckberry, they tend to sell out—that’s been the case for several colors of the Proof 72-Hour polo already. If you’ve been looking for a polo that’s well-suited for travel and everyday wear, this is the one for you. But act quickly, because we’re expecting sizes to sell out soon.
